How to Escape from the Rat Race

Do you want to start your own business and be your own boss? Do you think that you don’t have enough money to start one? Well, this book will definitely change your perspective on entrepreneurship.
Escape from the Rat Race is a book written by Robert T. Kiyosaki, the best-selling author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad; and Sharon L. Lechter, the CEO of Rich Dad’s Organization. The book follows a story about a turtle that wanted to go on a roller coaster ride but couldn’t afford a ticket. His friend, a smart rat, started to teach him the basics of making money based on the principles found in Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
The rat race is basically the norm – getting a job, working, spending income and working again. One of the principles found in the book is how to make money work for you – not to work for money. Investing in stocks and businesses are some of the ways where you could make money without really working for it.
Some may say that investing in a business requires a big capital investment. People would use that as an excuse for not starting one. The truth is you could already start a business even if you have no income at all! You just need to serve a market niche and find unique business opportunities. For example, you could collect old DVDs that you don’t use anymore and put up a small movie rental store.
Most of the time, people think that the only way they are going to earn money is through a job, but they do not see the different business opportunities available to them. They slave to earn money but do not spend it wisely. As the rich dad said; you should work to learn, not to earn. Do not depend on paycheck alone. Your office experiences should serve only as inspiration for business ventures.
Also, this book was written comic book-style so even pre-teens could understand it. They would appreciate the different characters in the story while they are learning about the basics of making money while they’re still not burdened by financial responsibilities like rent, bills, or mortgages.
Eventually, the turtle got to ride the roller coaster – and got to treat his two friends! All because he followed the rat’s advice: Do not work for money, make
 money work for you.
